Scam And Fraud Education (SAFE)

For 10 years, Senior Education Ministries did a themed seminar to educate the Senior citizens about Frauds and Scams. It was an all-day FREE event for the seniors. Vendors helped to support the event by setting up a display booth (FREE OF CHARGE) and giving information to the seniors about their business. THERE was NO SOLICITATION of any kind during the seminar, so seniors were secure about it being a safe environment to learn about frauds and scams and about local businesses in their community. It gave the businesses an opportunity to market (if you will) to the senior population gain volunteers as well as inform the seniors of choices for future healthcare needs.

The program was no longer offered when the Vigo County Triad was put in place to provide ongoing instruction and protection regarding frauds and scams. Coffee with a Cop was also put into place to offer a safe community environment to get to know law enforcement.
