                      Karen Temple, Attorney at Law

Karen was born in Indianapolis, and graduated from Warren Central High School.  She then attended Purdue University, graduating in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Communications.

She attended Loyola Law School and received her Juris Doctor degree in 1977, and was admitted to practice in California in 1977.

In 1978, Karen became a deputy district attorney for the County of Orange, California, where she tried misdemeanor and felony jury and court trials for three years.

She then obtained her real estate broker’s license and was an active broker in the Los Angeles southern beach area.

Karen returned home to Indiana, and was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1983.  She worked with the firm of Feeney and Ward in Indianapolis, working in personal injury and estate planning.  She then established a private practice, joining Edwin H. Hughes III in representing AHM Graves Realtors.  In 1986, she left to become President & CEO of Indiana Title Company in Indianapolis.

In 1992, she moved to Putnam County and became Corporate Secretary/Treasurer and office manager of Bill Robertson Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Greencastle, and maintained a small, limited practice in real estate law and estate planning. 

In 2004, she began to establish a private practice, and joined Bob’s offices in June of 2005. From April of 2005 through April 2006, Karen sat as Commissioner in the Putnam County Circuit Court for Title IVD child support matters.

Karen is married to Ben Dulaski, and has two grown children: Scott Robertson, a graduate of Greencastle High School, and Stephanie Robertson, a graduate of North Putnam High School.   Stephanie is working on obtaining a double Masters degree from University of Denver.   Scott will graduate from Princeton Theological Seminary in May of 2010.

Karen has served on the boards of the Greencastle Chamber of Commerce, and the Putnam County Humane Society.  She is a member of the Putnam County Bar Association and the Indiana State Bar. 

Her hobbies include the Putnam County Playhouse, where she has been lucky enough to be on stage in many productions.  Her favorite rolls include Miss Hannigan in Annie, Bloody Mary in South Pacific, and Yente in Fiddler on the Roof. Karen also breeds and shows Chihuahuas and has a website at www.templechihuahuas.com.

Each Lunch with a Lawyer program will have a "MISSION MOMENT" speaker (community service agency). This speaker serves as a "Public defender/Community defender" agency and will provide information to the people about what they do and how they are there to serve them in their community. 

This month’s Mission Moment will feature:  The Wabash Independent Living and Learning Center (WILL Center)                                                          

The WILL Center’s mission is to empower people with disabilities to ensure that they have full and complete access to community resources to promote their independence.  The WILL Center is a nonprofit, community based, nonresidential organization that is run by and for people with disabilities. It provides the following services: individual advocacy, systems advocacy, information and referral, independent living skills training, assistive technology information, ADA information and peer counseling.
